Oyster Bay Equity is a private investment firm focused exclusively on small to mid-sized franchise brands with the potential to scale. We partner with founders who need more than capital, providing proven operating experience, strategic direction, and deep industry relationships to help brands grow into market leaders.

Our approach is grounded in nearly four decades of franchising success. Beginning in 1986 with a single brand, Signarama, our team helped build and scale a portfolio of more than ten franchise brands across 80 countries. Under the leadership of our founder, Ray Titus, these efforts led to the creation of United Franchise Group, now one of the most recognized franchise platforms in the world.

Today, Oyster Bay Equity builds on that legacy — investing with discipline, operating with conviction, and partnering closely with founders to create durable, globally scalable franchise businesses.

Ray Titus has spent more than four decades building United Franchise Group into one of the largest privately held, multi-brand, family-owned franchise platforms in the world. During his tenure as CEO, he led the growth, acquisition, and successful sale of multiple franchise brands, helping scale businesses across industries and international markets. Today, Ray serves as Chairman of the Board and CEO of United Franchise Group and is the Managing Director of Oyster Bay Equity, where he applies the same disciplined, operator-led approach to investing.

Through Oyster Bay Equity, Ray works directly with franchise founders and entrepreneurs, often taking an active board role and providing hands-on strategic guidance. Portfolio companies gain direct access to capital, operating experience, and a deep network of relationships across franchising, private equity, family offices, and M&A advisors — enabling brands to scale intelligently and position themselves for meaningful liquidity events on their own timeline.
